Festivals and feasts

In Montenegro, like in the other countries, people want to have a fun, make their day more pleasant and therefore they organize various festivals and feasts. Among typical winter feasts belong car races on snow which are being held in January in the town of Zabljak. These races attract a lot of sport fans; the music, good food or drinks can not miss. In February in the region of Herceg Novi takes place so-called Mimosas Festival which is diversified and merry festival. Fish feasts, fancy-balls, carnivals, expositions, competitions, flower exhibitions and performances are held during the festival. That same month take place Kotor carnival and Boka night in Tivat. The famous Durmitor Cup in the region of Zabljak is an international ski competition which also takes place in February. Another important feast is Days of camelia in Kotor. There are many flower exhibitions, performances, the Ball of camelia and the choice of the Lady of Camelia. The same month people are not also bored in Podgorica where the children's song festival is held called Our Joy and the Golden Snowball.

April is the month of the performances in Podgorica. In May, we may notice three important events- the festivals. The first of them is a television festival during which the famous television films are projected and the second is Vladimir’s cross which takes place on May 30. That day the cross is carried out on the summit of Rumija on the place where according to a legend used to be a church. The last of the three festivals is Montenegro Cup in Kotor and Niksic. It is a competition in free climbing. June is very rich in festivals. It is the time for the festivals in Budva called Budva Music Festival and International Dance Festival. The festival ideal for the young people is International Youth Camp. The July festival Theatre city in Budva is a feast of classical music, performance, ballet where choirs, local and foreign artists perform.
